The 1st Roar | Accidental Video / Action for New Bark Town

[It wasn't that his PokéGear was looking particularly tasty that afternoon, nor was it giving off any significantly threatening sort of air...

[No, twas curiosity that caused the cat to chomp down on his hard metal device, succeeding only in unintentionally beginning a broadcast and scaring the absolute piss out of himself.]

What the--!

[Yup. That shiny rock you just bit sure did just make a sound, and now that you've pulled it far away enough from your face to see what's going on on its screen, you...

[...yelp like a little cub and chuck it across the way!

[Goooood going.]

[Well, geez, aren't you a sourpuss. She looks at him for another second or so before she sighs and opens her gear and touches the screen to bring up the keyboard.]

Okay, this is where you type. You ... do know how to do that, right?
alwaysonline: (deadpan and/or opinions)

[Skipper shoots him an equally annoyed look, then sighs and takes the keyboard down.]

Okay, no typing, I get it. Here, try this thing.

[She presses, on her own gear, the shortcut for audio recordings.]

You press this button and you speak into it.
alwaysonline: (like at all)

Anything. It's just a test.

[She says, somewhat patiently.]
alwaysonline: (... I call fake)

[personal profile] alwaysonline 2013-04-16 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Did you press the button?
alwaysonline: (oh COME ON)

[personal profile] alwaysonline 2013-04-16 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
I know what I'm doing! Look, just mimic what I'm doing on my phone on your phone. Press the button on your phone. Then talk into it.
alwaysonline: (technology is more interesting than you)

[personal profile] alwaysonline 2013-04-16 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
[She rolls her eyes.]

Press it again. It means it stops listening.

Then go ... here.

[She points to the little icon that lets you listen to the recording, and will be watching his face as he presses it, thank you.]
alwaysonline: (oh nvm it was just you)

[personal profile] alwaysonline 2013-04-16 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yep.

[See, she does know what she's doing.]

And if you go here ... or here ... you can send it to people. This one lets anyone know what you said, I think. And then here you can pick who to send it to. You enter their numbers here.

This is mine.

[She holds up her gear to show him the sequence of numbers accompanying her picture. ... maybe a bit too much too soon there, but. She doesn't have all day, either, you know. Especially not if you're going to be such a grouch.]
alwaysonline: (what big closets you have)

[personal profile] alwaysonline 2013-04-16 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, it's called technology. Guess you don't have that where you're from, huh?

[Obviously, since he said precisely that - but she looks at him a little more curiously now, even while she's still holding her gear out for him to see. It's an invitation for him to elaborate, should he want to.]
alwaysonline: (.. aha)

[personal profile] alwaysonline 2013-04-16 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Okay, no more asking for now, then. She nods her yes, then shows him again how to summon the keyboard.]

It's the same as before, except you press this symbol over here, too. The numbers are on the top row.

Just copy them, then press that other symbol over there.

[personal profile] alwaysonline 2013-04-16 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Nice.

[She swipes her own screen back to the default one, then shows him the little icon that shows her she has a voicemail.]

Okay, my screen looks like this now. When I press here, it'll show me you sent me a voice message.

[She presses it, hits play, let's his voice play back once again.]

There. And now I'm going to call you.
alwaysonline: (sure thing)

[personal profile] alwaysonline 2013-04-16 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
[And congratulations, Kovu, you just won yourself a smile!]

Okay, I go ... here.

[She opens what's essentially the logged contacts and saves his number, and ... oh, right.]

What's your name, by the way? I'm Skipper.
alwaysonline: (you sure that's what it says?)

[personal profile] alwaysonline 2013-04-16 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
I saved your number with your name, so I can find it easier.

[She explains, as she then picks his contact number so it fills the screen.]

Okay, so when I press this, your phone will probably make a sound. Don't ... freak out. I'll show you what to do.

[She gives him a semi cautious look and then proceeds to call his gear. :I]
