The 1st Roar | Accidental Video / Action for New Bark Town
[It wasn't that his PokéGear was looking particularly tasty that afternoon, nor was it giving off any significantly threatening sort of air...
[No, twas curiosity that caused the cat to chomp down on his hard metal device, succeeding only in unintentionally beginning a broadcast and scaring the absolute piss out of himself.]
What the--!
[Yup. That shiny rock you just bit sure did just make a sound, and now that you've pulled it far away enough from your face to see what's going on on its screen, you...
[...yelp like a little cub and chuck it across the way!
[Goooood going.]

Okay, this is where you type. You ... do know how to do that, right?
no subject
No. I have no idea what you're talking about, actually.
[Surprise, surprise.]
no subject
Okay, no typing, I get it. Here, try this thing.
[She presses, on her own gear, the shortcut for audio recordings.]
You press this button and you speak into it.
no subject
[He says, brow furrowing as he leans in entirely too close to the device.]
What am I supposed to say?
no subject
[She says, somewhat patiently.]
no subject
[After all, he has already said something...]
no subject
no subject
[Grrr...]
I thought you knew what you were doing!

no subject
[He does what he's told, though, however stubbornly.]
Okay, now what?
no subject
Press it again. It means it stops listening.
Then go ... here.
[She points to the little icon that lets you listen to the recording, and will be watching his face as he presses it, thank you.]
no subject
[He presses the button though, then the other button...
[And...sure enough, he's shocked.]
What the--
[...]
Is that...?
That's what I just said!
no subject
[See, she does know what she's doing.]
And if you go here ... or here ... you can send it to people. This one lets anyone know what you said, I think. And then here you can pick who to send it to. You enter their numbers here.
This is mine.
[She holds up her gear to show him the sequence of numbers accompanying her picture. ... maybe a bit too much too soon there, but. She doesn't have all day, either, you know. Especially not if you're going to be such a grouch.]
no subject
It's just...some weird rock or something, how can it...?
[His voice trails off there, and instead of entering the number as she tells him to, he just sort of...stares at his PokéGear, far less grouchy and much more...amazed than he was before.
[And still pretty freaked out...]
no subject
[Obviously, since he said precisely that - but she looks at him a little more curiously now, even while she's still holding her gear out for him to see. It's an invitation for him to elaborate, should he want to.]
no subject
[His voice is soft, attention still caught up in playing back the sound of his own voice...Definitely not something they have back in the Pridelands.
[That goes for numbers, as well.]
Should I...send it to you? How do I get those symbols on mine?
no subject
It's the same as before, except you press this symbol over here, too. The numbers are on the top row.
Just copy them, then press that other symbol over there.
no subject
You could've just said so earlier...
[He doesn't dwell on that for long, though, surprisingly eager to see what will happen when he completes the sequence of numbers and clicks send. It takes him a while to get the pattern down right, but once he does.]
There.
no subject
[She swipes her own screen back to the default one, then shows him the little icon that shows her she has a voicemail.]
Okay, my screen looks like this now. When I press here, it'll show me you sent me a voice message.
[She presses it, hits play, let's his voice play back once again.]
There. And now I'm going to call you.
no subject
No way...
That is so cool.
[Looks like somebody forgot that he was supposed to be in a bad mood. Oh well.]
Okay, go!
no subject
Okay, I go ... here.
[She opens what's essentially the logged contacts and saves his number, and ... oh, right.]
What's your name, by the way? I'm Skipper.
no subject
[Come on, come on. He wants to see what else this magic rock can do!]
no subject
[She explains, as she then picks his contact number so it fills the screen.]
Okay, so when I press this, your phone will probably make a sound. Don't ... freak out. I'll show you what to do.
[She gives him a semi cautious look and then proceeds to call his gear. :I]
no subject
I am not going to freak ou--
[He says, cutting himself off when the PokéGear sounds and startles him yet again. At least he only jumps a little this time...]
Okay, okay, it's...making the sound, what do I do?
