[The bird lands next to the gadget and, after a quick inspection, begins to polish some dirt off of it with her wings.]

[But you actually look about as confused and out of place as he feels! Leaving you alone would be such a waste.]

[He grumbles, glancing back toward his PokéGear on the ground and finally taking note of the little bird.]

Do you mean the little red thing or the cute bird? Because I'm not really sure about the red thing, but the birdie says she's a Swablu. Which is apparently some kind of "Pokémon".

[After deciding she's satisfied with the object's cleanliness, the Swablu picks it up in her claws and begins fluttering back over.]

[Oh God, the rock is talking now. He can hear it from where he is! It takes him a few minutes to to recover from the shock before he very cautiously ventures over, crawling on his hands and knees since he has yet to figure human legs out.

[A few minutes after your message and he'll be hovering over the device on the ground, eyes wide.

It's nice to know that he's not the only one who has no idea what's going on here.

The bird is apparently much less unflappable than her companion. When Kovu directs his attention at her, she hurries to Henry and ducks behind him. She chirps a short reply (in Pokémon, of course) from there, saying that she's a Pokémon- anyone who isn't a human is, and she doesn't know.

Henry would translate, but since Kovu addressed her directly, he assumes that's not necessary.]

[He smiles encouragingly. This man seems to be having a lot of the same problems he did when he first arrived.]

Don't worry, the box is perfectly safe. It is like a letter, only it arrives right away and you can see the person on the other side. [He pauses.] Or like a telephone, if those have been invented yet where you are from.

[Of course, not knowing what a Pokémon is, he assumes that the animal he was just talking to isn't giving him a sufficient answer.]

[...huh. Okay then. The Swablu chirps again and settles on Henry's shoulder, letting the Pokégear drop into his hand.]

She says that Pokémon are animals, she doesn't know the rest, and she told you so you don't need to raise your voice.

[He takes a look at that gadget while he translates. Yep, it's the same one he's got...]
